Where have I been?!

Jodi + Rob's wedding in Texas... a 4th of July celebration with my family in West Virginia.. and this weekend, a wedding at Gedney Farm in Massachusetts! -- one of my very favorite places to shoot.

Poor, neglected blog. I do plan on catching up - or attempting to - very soon. Stay tuned: I'm excited about my super-fantastic new blog that's in the works... appearing on your computer screen this August. :)

Shootshop!

I've had an exciting couple of weeks traveling throughout the southwest, but I'm so glad to be back in New York for a while... On the 9th, I headed out to San Diego for a shootshop with the amazing Nate and Jaclyn of The Image is Found. They've been a great inspiration to me for several years, so meeting and getting to hang out with them was huge. :)

I had another day and a half before I had to get back to NY, so I drove into the desert to visit and photograph the Salton Sea (at Nate's recommendation). The place was a virtual ghost town, although apparently the area has multipled in size.

Thousands of fish were floating, dead, on the seashore and rotting on the beach.

On the drive back, I passed signs for Joshua Tree, which I've always wondered about and wanted to see. So I made a detour and spent some time in the brutally hot, but majestic Mojave desert.

If you're looking for a cheap way to die... (indeed, climbing all over these steep rocks in my city shoes was probably asking for a broken neck)

California!

I'm flying out to San Diego tomorrow and staying through Wednesday. Looks like I'm escaping the worst of the New York heat these three days! I'll be back to e-mails by Thursday morning.
